本剧通过刘三姐不平凡的经历，不为人知的故事，讲述了刘三姐的传奇故事，展现了广西的民风民情和秀美的大好河山。刘三姐是民间歌手，乐于助人，聪明美丽，她巧断葫芦案，解救使女香草，用“鹦鹉偷簪”、“巧断猫案”，智斗贪官县令。她在柳州传歌，去邕城参加南国歌会，又“矮人寨智救逃婚妹”、“风雨桥同唱礼仪歌”。在大唐特使召见时，大唱“警世真歌”，为民请命，为民代言。土司桂万山、秀才张伟望、阿龙等人帮助三姐渡过重重难关。而对三姐怀恨在心，一心报复的慕仁环则用尽阴谋诡计，迫害三姐，最后被一一击败，落得可耻下场。
乡村的小路上，因为工作狂和严要求而被同事“推举”出报社成为后石沟村第一书记的孙光明（靳东 饰）正在赴任的路上，进村的第一件事就是与另一辆车相撞。而肇事者正是同样刚刚来到后石沟村准备担任的后石沟村代言人徐唯一（毛晓慧 饰）。

在《师任堂》中，李英爱将化身朝鲜王朝时期著名女书画家、文学家、诗人“申师任堂”，演绎她不平凡的一生。该人物以其美德、聪慧，以及杰出的艺术造诣被视为韩国女性的典范，其人物形象甚至被印在了2009年正式发行的韩国最大的5万面值韩币上，而5千元韩币上的人物形象则是其儿子李珥— —朝鲜时代著名的儒学家。 据悉，《师任堂》的故事将在朝鲜时代和现代穿梭呈现，而李英爱也将分饰大学美术史讲师和师任堂两个角色。在偶然发现师任堂的日记和神秘的美人图之后，同样由李英爱饰演的美术讲师步入了对“师任堂”这一传奇女性的探秘之旅。
《师任堂》剧方表示“虽然我们不敢说是在策划之初就考虑由李英爱来主演，但她所拥有的古典美和优雅的的形象与师任堂这个人物十分吻合。对于李英爱所塑造的师任堂，即便是想象一下也会为之心动”。 制作方表示该剧将在全部拍摄制作完成后于2017年初播出，敬请期待！
本剧是以立志药学的研究者·好并一树（伊藤淳史饰）和青梅竹马的河原智子（佐佐木希饰）、以及一树的挚友、研究者伙伴·柏木航（桐山涟饰）三人为中心，描绘他们梦想与挫折的社会派娱乐剧作。
