《Lore》改编自2015年获奖同名热门Podcast节目，由 Aaron Mahnke 编剧，透过检视真实历史事件探索人类的黑暗本质。打着「有时真相比虚构的故事更可怕」的口号，节目中所有故事源於真实调查丶目击者报告和历史档案。从吸血鬼传说丶活尸的起源丶狼人到美国史上第一个连环杀手 H.H. Holmes 皆为《Lore》触及的题材。
1937年10月，日本大特务吉田以学者的身份，在荣杰的陪同下潜入鄂尔多斯，与早就潜伏的特务布谷鸟密会，商议用重兵把成吉思汗陵强迁到日本，如行动失败就炸毁成陵，来实施东条英机征服蒙古的大魂计划。和日寇狼狈为奸的德王爷，利用参加成吉思汗诞辰770年的机会，威逼利诱鄂尔多斯的正副盟长沙王爷、达王爷与他合作。国民党的白专员也想把达王爷拉拢到南京。却被他的副官、吉田的学生布林告密，途中被日本特务杀死。达王爷被日寇抓起来，百般折磨逼其当傀儡。同时为逼沙王爷就范，将他的女儿多兰抓起严刑拷打……
