故事女主人公的原型为至今仍被视作日本女演员的代名词，以“大坂之母”为人所熟知的女演员浪花千荣子。女主人公是出生于大坂南河内贫困人家的少女・竹井千代，因被道顿堀的表演吸引，而决定以成为女演员为目标，随后更与喜剧世界邂逅，并与喜剧世界的王子一同携手站上走过昭和战前、战中、战后动荡期的大坂舞台。她那有笑有泪、人情满溢、波兰跌宕的一生都将在剧中被仔细描绘。
