The amount of memory occupied by a single TCB depends on the implementation of TCP options and other functions used in the connection. Usually a TCB has at least 280 bytes, which in some operating systems has exceeded 1300 bytes. The SYN-RECEIVED state of TCP is used to indicate that the connection is only half open, and the legality of the request is still questioned. An important aspect worth noting here is that the size of TCB allocation space depends on the SYN packets received-before the connection is fully established or the return reachability of the connection initiator is verified.
Unconnected queue: In the three-way handshake protocol, the server maintains an unconnected queue that opens an entry for each client's SYN packet (syn=j), which indicates that the server has received the SYN packet, sends a confirmation to the client, and is waiting for the client's confirmation packet. The connection identified by these entries is in Syn_RECV state on the server. When the server receives the confirmation package from the customer, the entry is deleted and the server enters ESTABLISHED state.
