故事讲述主人公・天童勇树（武子直辉）是一名前小学教师的自由职业者。为了找工作，他去拜访了学生时代的同班同学兼议员秘书的花野薫（深泽大河），结果被「闪耀新党」的古刚荣进（横山真史）发掘，于是就参加了市长选举。
